BURGLARIES - 4 BUSINESSES IN VILLAGE OF MORAVIA
     On 02-17-10 Memebers of the Sheriff's Office and the Moravia Police Department responded to burglaries at four seperate businesses in the Village of Moravia. The break-ins occurred sometime over night. An undisclosed amount of cash was stolen from these businesses. It is apparent that all of these burglaries were committed by the same person(s).The following businesses were victims of the break-ins:
  • Coffee 'N Cream coffee shop - N Main St at corner of Cayuga St
  • Giuseppe's Pizzeria - Main St at corner of Cayuga St
  • New York Pizzeria - Main St between Central St and Church St
  • Spring Garden Chinese Resturant - Main St between Central St and Church St
The Sheriff's Office is asking anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity, persons or vehicles during the overnight or early morning hours near these businesses to contact Detectives.

DAMAGE TO CEMETERY
      the Cayuga County Sheriff's Office is investigating a property damage hit and run motor vehicle accident which occurred on Sand Beach Rd. in the Town of Fleming. Sometime around the end of August an unknown vehicle traveling eastbound on Sand Beach Rd. drove off of the south side of the roadway, traveled through the chain link fence at Lakeview Cemetery, and struck and damaged four headstones. The suspect vehicle is believed to be a front wheel drive passenger car and may have sustained front end and undercarriage damage. The estimated damage to the cemetery is well over $1000.00. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the Cayuga County Sheriff's Office.

BURGLARY - BONCA'S RESTURANT
     At approximately 9:30 AM 09-15-09 members of the Cayuga County Sheriff's Office responded to Bonca's Restaurant at 3193 East Genesee Street Road in the Town of Sennett for a reported burglary that occurred overnight. Entry was forced into the building and a quantity of cash was stolen. Anyone that may have seen a vehicle or anyone in the area of Bonca's Restaurant between the hours of 2:00 AM and 4:00 AM today's date is asked to contact the Sheriff's Office.

BURGLARIES - GOLF COURSES
     Overnight on July 23rd - July 24th unknown perpetrator(s) forced entry to the clubhouse at the Indian Head Golf Course located on Rt. 5&20 in the Town of Aurelius. A small amount of cash was stolen. Also overnight unknown perpetrator(s) forced entry to the main office at the Arnold Palmer mini-golf course located on Gates Rd. in the Town of Sennett. As of this release nothing has been reported stolen. These burglaries are the latest in a string of burglaries to Golf Course Clubhouses that have been investigated by area law enforcement since the spring of 2009.

BURGLARIES - FLEMING PIT-STOP AND E&V OFFICES
     On April 8th 2009 The Sheriff's Office received a report of a burglary at the Pit-Stop Convenience Store on State Route 34 in the Town of Fleming. During the investigation it was determined that an adjacent business, the E&V Energy Corporation Building, had been burglarized as well. The investigation revealed that the businesses were entered at two different times during the night and that a surveillance camera captured video of one perpetrator at about 2:30 AM in the office of the Pit-Stop. An image from that video is below. Marlboro and Old Gold cigarettes were stolen from the Pit-Stop and a safe containing cash was stolen from the E&V building.

BURGLARY - STORAGE BUILDING
     On June 30th 2009 The Sheriff's Office received a report of a burglary to a storage building located on E Genesee Street Road in the Town of Sennett. A Large amount of Sporting equipment and tools were stolen from the storage building.
