BURGLARY INVESTIGATION - OWASCO

Sheriff David Gould requests the public’s help with an ongoing residential burglary investigation.
During the time frame of 11/6/12 – 11/29/12 a residential burglary occurred at a residence on Murphy’s
Way in the Town of Owasco. A safe was stolen during the incident that contained cash, numerous
individual pearls, and commemorative bank notes from Thailand. Each pearl was attached to individual
paper cards. Photos of the pearls and Thailand bank notes are attached. These photos are replacement
photos and not actual photos of the stolen items.

ALL STORAGE BURGLARY INVESTIGATION - SENNETT

Sheriff David Gould requests the public’s help with a burglary investigation. During the evening hours
of Monday, October 29th, 2012, a burglary occurred at the All Storage – self storage facility – at
450 Grant Avenue in the Town of Sennett. Multiple storage units were forcibly entered and property was
removed.

BURGLARY INVESTIGATION - EMERSON PARK
10-22-2012 -
Sheriff David Gould reports that the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a burglary at
Emerson Park in the Town of Owasco. Sometime between 10:00pm Saturday Evening and 8:00am this morning
unknown person(s) forced entry to the Security Office at the park and stole 6 portable 2-way radios
along with their chargers and shoulder microphones. A re-chargeable flashlight was also stolen.
All stolen items are black in color.

FLY BY NIGHT COOKIE COMPANY BURGLARY - STERLING

Sheriff David Gould reports that the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a burglary to the
Fly by Night Cookie Company on Fancher Avenue in the Town of Sterling. Sometime between 9:00
pm Sunday September 30th and 8:00 am Monday October 1st, unknown person(s) went into the store
and stole the cash register containing an undisclosed amount of cash, the telephone, and the tip jar.
Small items from inside the shop were found strewn across the lawn towards the village.

CEMETARY DESECRATION - WEEDSPORT

Sheriff David Gould reports that the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office is investigating vandalism to numerous grave stones at
the Weedsport Rural Cemetery located on E. Brutus St. Rd. in the Town of Brutus. Sometime between 3:30pm yesterday and
8:00am this morning unknown person(s) tipped over and/or damaged approximately 20 head stones and monuments and also scattered
grave decorations, flags and other items throughout the cemetery. No official damage amount has been established at this time
however is expected to be in the thousands. It is possible that the perpetrator was on foot.
UPDATE 08-23-2012 - Cayuga County Sheriff David Gould reports that the investigation into
the vandalism at the Weedsport Rural Cemetery is continuing. Detectives are looking to identify a group of youths seen in the
area on Tuesday evening.
A Weedsport resident responding to news coverage about the case contacted Detectives today and reported seeing a group of
approximately 8 teenagers come up out of a creek bed near the intersection of Shepherd Rd. and E. Brutus St. Rd. at approximately
6:00pm on Tuesday evening. This creek bed runs in close proximity to the cemetery. The youths were last seen at that intersection
and their direction of travel from that point is unknown at this time.
Detectives are hoping to identify the youths and interview them in order to determine if they have any information relative to the
investigation.
Due to the time frame and the proximity of these two crimes it is believed that they are related.

BURGLARY & LARCENY INVESTIGATION - MARTINS POINT

Sheriff David Gould reports that the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office is investigating two criminal incidents
which occurred at Martins Point in the Town of Owasco sometime overnight Friday June 22 to Saturday June 23rd.
Unknown persons attempted to gain entry to the storage garage located near the swimming pool by kicking and
damaging the walk in door. No entry was made and no items were stolen.
The same night, unknown persons entered onto a docked pontoon boat in the same area and stole a Sony CDXGT 260MP stereo system.
Due to the time frame and the proximity of these two crimes it is believed that they are related.

BURGLARY INVESTIGATION - BRUTUS

Sheriff David Gould reports that the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a burglary to an occupied
residence at Kenyon’s Landing Trailer Park located on Rt. 5 in the Town of Brutus.
Sometime overnight unknown perpetrators forced entry to the residence of an elderly woman while she slept and
stole several medication bottles containing various prescription drugs.

BURGLARY INVESTIGATION - VICTORY

Sheriff David Gould reports that the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a burglary to an occupied
residence which occurred on 04/29/12 at 1:30am on Rt. 104 in the Town of Victory. A female occupant called 911 after
hearing someone breaking into the residence while a male occupant went to investigate the noises. The male occupant
confronted the perpetrator attempting to open his back door. The perpetrator then fled the scene leaving one sneaker
behind. The perpetrator is described as a black male, 5’10” – 6’0” tall. Attached is a photograph of the perpetrator’s
sneaker found at the scene.

SOUTHERN CAYUGA COUNTY FIRES

Sheriff David Gould reports that the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office is investigating numerous outside fires which
occurred along the roadsides at locations in Southern Cayuga County on the evenings of March 12, 2012 and
March 13, 2012. Fires have been reported on Rockefeller and Skinner Hill Roads in the Town of Moravia, Route 38 in
the Town of Locke, Howell Road in the Town of Summerhill and Route 90 in Town of Springport. The investigation does
indicate that these fires have been intentionally set.

GRAND LARCENY INVESTIGATION - SENNETT

Sheriff David Gould reports that the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the theft of several passenger car
and truck tires from the Summit Auto Mall (Chevy, Buick, GMC) located at 318 Grant Ave. in the Town of Sennett. Two
full tire racks were accidentally left outside by an employee last evening, 02/16/12, and unknown person (s) stole
approximately 30 tires sometime overnight valued at over $2,600.00. The tires were mainly Firestone and Cooper brand
in various models and sizes.
